Mary Berry Guacamole is a classic avocado dip prepared with minimal ingredients to let the natural flavour shine. Unlike heavily spiced versions, this approach keeps things light, smooth, and refreshing, making it versatile and easy to pair with many dishes.

Ingredients

  • Ripe avocados: 2 large

  • Lime juice: 1–2 tablespoons (to taste)

  • Red onion: 1 small, very finely chopped

  • Fresh coriander: 1–2 tablespoons, finely chopped

  • Salt: to taste

  • Black pepper: to taste

Instructions

  • Prepare the avocados – Cut the avocados in half, remove the stones, and scoop the flesh into a bowl.

  • Mash gently – Use a fork to mash until creamy with a few small chunks remaining.

  • Add lime juice – Stir in the lime juice immediately to brighten flavour and prevent browning.

  • Mix in onion and herbs – Add the finely chopped red onion and coriander, mixing gently.

  • Season carefully – Add salt and black pepper to taste, adjusting gradually.

  • Taste and balance – Adjust lime or seasoning as needed for a clean, fresh finish.
